Quote

"Much is written about the Batman because he is publicly exposed in print. Very little is known personally about his creator, because I haven't given out that many interviews."

THE VISION OF THE COMIC BOOKS/GRAPHIC NOVELS AND SUPERHERO CINEMA SOCIETY

The Comic Book/ Graphic Novels and Superhero Cinema Society would be more than just a group of people getting together talking about comics and such.  It will be an important entity to not only the library, but to the university overall. For the library aspect, the wish would be to start a comic and graphic novel collection for students, staff and faculty to use in many ways.

For students and staff, the collection would be a form of entertainment, something that can take them away from the everyday stress of studying or thinking about their job responsibilities. For faculty, the hope they would use comics and graphic novels in their curriculum to show students what constitutes great storytelling or great artistry.

Comics/graphic novels and especially films can also give individuals a chance to express how they liked or disliked the material or any other subject matter that comes to mind. I am hoping in time will be have some sort of social media outlet, so that other universities can learn about our group and the discussions  that are talked about. I’m thinking a Facebook page, Twitter, or maybe a YouTube channel where we would tape at the library to give it a plug.

Finally, I would hope that this club will be fun for years to come. It will be a place to meet people from different backgrounds and share their personal perspectives on different subject matters relating to the genre.
