Search Strategies

Strategy to locate and access copies of articles

  1. Conduct a literature search in the  recommended indexes. 
  2. Many indexes include full-text articles in PDF, TXT, and HTML formats.  Use the External Link Icon    icon to link to full text articles, Interlibrary Loan request forms, or other tools.
  3. If you have a citation (Journal name, article title, year, volume number, etc) use the Journals List to locate content.
  4. Double check the GSU Library Catalog to locate journals in print and microfilm formats, if not found in the Full Text Journals List.

  • CINAHL Complete
    CINAHL® Complete is the world's most comprehensive nursing & allied health research database, providing full text for more than 1,350 journals indexed in CINAHL®. This authoritative file contains full text for many of the most used journals in the CINAHL® index, with no embargo. With full-text coverage dating back to 1937, CINAHL® Complete is the definitive research tool for all areas of nursing and allied health literature.
    CINAHL® Complete also provides indexing for more than 5,200 journals from the fields of nursing and allied health. The database contains more than 4.1 million records dating back to 1937.
  • PubMed (MEDLINE)
    Published by the National Library of Medicine, PubMed provides over 20 million to the world's biomedical literature from 1966 to the present, including Pre-1966 and pre-publication citations provided by publisher partners. Full Text articles can be accessed from freely accessible articles, and through the GSU Outside Tool. Please change results display to "Abstract" to view the GSU links to GSU holdings, and to an Interlibrary Loan request form.

    (EBSCO) PsycINFO contains more than 1.8 million citations and summaries of journal articles, book chapters, books, dissertations and technical reports, in the the multidisciplinary field of behaviorial science and mental health.     combines the NHS Economic Evaluation Database (NHS EED) and Health Technology Assessments (HTA) with the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews (CDSR), Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects (DARE), Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials and Cochrane Methodology Register.
