The following databases are recommended for full-text journal articles, peer-reviewed journals, and citations & abstracts in the Social Sciences. All databases are listed alphabetically on the Databases A-Z list. Off-campus login for databases is your myGSU Portal username and password.

TO FIND ARTICLES IN SOCIAL SCIENCES JOURNALS, FIRST TRY THESE DATABASES:

Academic Search Complete
More than 8,500 full-text periodicals, including more than 7,300 peer-reviewed journals. In addition to full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts for more than 12,500 journals and a total of more than 13,200 publications including monographs, reports, conference proceedings, etc. The database features PDF content going back as far as 1887, with the majority of full text titles in native (searchable) PDF format. Searchable cited references are provided for more than 1,400 journals.

Proquest Research Library
Provides access to Research Library Core.

SocINDEX
This is the primary index to use when searching in the fields of sociological research, and includes topics such as marriage & family, criminology, social psychology, ethnic & racial studies, and gender studies.  It includes close to 2 million records for scholarly journal articles, books, chapters in books, and conference papers, and also includes 10,000 author profiles.

American FactFinder
Find popular facts (population, income, etc.) and frequently requested data about your community.
